Our skip peeled lodge pole is harvested in the high elevations of the Rocky Mountains of Utah, Montana and Idaho, the wood comes from some of the finest stands of lodge pole on earth. We receive the wood in the bark, it is then skip peel by hand with a draw knife. This is the same tool the pioneers used to build the first cabins here in the west. The skip peeled processes also gives each piece of furniture its own distinct look. Each lodge pole will also crack to relieve pressure, the cracking is from the heart out, if the cracks cause structural damage we will replace the component or piece of furniture. |

The turned lodge pole is also harvested in Rocky Mountains of Utah, Montana and Idaho, it is sent through a doweller giving each piece a uniform size. The outer layers are used for paper and mulch, leaving us the heart wood of each tree. Our true turned furniture is the most economical, due to the fact it is dimensional. This kind of furniture will also crack and check allowing pressure release. Once again we stand behind every piece of furniture we build, if a crack compromises the integrity of the wood we will replace it |
